Curriculum Vitae
Born Los Angeles, California 1958, I moved with family to England in 1973. Have been resident since, becoming a dual US & UK citizen in 2022. Lived in London, the Southeast and since 1989 have been based in Northumberland in Northeast England. All of this continues to be an interesting venture.
After one year in High School, was educated in English schools & colleges the most notable being the West Surrey College of Art and the Camberwell School of Art where I completed a degree in 1979. Remain grateful to the artists & tutors Mario Dubsky, David Hepher & Slobodan Dan Paich. The artist & film maker Derek Jarman shot footage of my solo degree show in situ in a South London Church.
The Hon. Caroline Arbuthnot kindly introduced me to Claude du Berry at The Tryon & Moorland Gallery then in Cork Street where I participated in group & dual shows in the 1980s. Subsequently worked with Jonathan Cooper at the Park Walk Gallery in Chelsea. Among much else, the highlights there were three sold-out solo shows in the 1990s. There were also shows in Dublin and Kentucky thanks to the generous support of the philanthropist Chuck Feeney. Laterly sold with the Frank T Sabin Gallery in Dover Street & St James's where I contributed to group shows in the early 2000s. After John Sabin retired, success was continued with former Sabin gallery dealer Stephen Jack both in London and after his move to Yorkshire. Currently have sales of new work with Geoffrey Hughes at The Osborne Studio Gallery in Motcomb Street. There are others in the north & south of England that have also been successful notably Julian Thomas of Art Reserve, Somerset and the Tallantyre and Blagdon Galleries locally in Northumberland.
In recent years most of my work has been on a commission basis. Among many others, the most outstanding patrons who have been kind enough to take an active interest in commissioning and/or collecting my paintings directly have been Guy Innes-Ker, 10th Duke of Roxburghe, Lady Carole Bamford, & Paul Darling KC. Images of mine continue to be published by David Roe of Rosenstiels, London.
